Nokia Morph Concept Phone – Future Phone Technology

Morph is a Nanotechnology concept for future phones which is stretchable, flexible, and wearable having self cleaning surface and transparent electronics. The morph concept was developed by Nokia Research Center (NRC) and the University of Cambridge (UK). The concept was launched and an exhibition was held based on the “Design and the Elastic Mind” from February 24 to May 12, 2008 at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
Morph might be able to bring revolution in the field of mobile due to its great features:
Flexible and Stretchable:
Morph is a Nanotechnology concept which allows its components to be flexible, stretchable, transparent, and have a stronger structure. The thin elastic structure is due to the Fibril protein which is woven into three dimensional meshes. The principle of spider silk enables the material to bend in numerous shapes which makes the device wearable, so it can be worn on the wrist.
Self-Cleaning:
Morph is a self cleaning, self preserving, self sustainable concept which makes it corrosion free and increases its life. It has super hydrophobic surface which makes it extremely dirt repellent. Once in your pocket it itself changes to “Scratch Proof” mode which makes it scratch proof.
Advanced Power Sources:
The morph consists of Nanowire grass structure which allows it to use sunlight as an energy source, thus making it environmental friendly and easy to recharge. Also, due to its high charge density, it reduces the size of the battery.
Sensing The Environment:
Nokia morph has been equipped with Nanosensor technology which observes our local environment. It can detect specific chemical compounds in air and on food items, thus helps in improving our hygiene and health conditions.
